Did prophet Muhammed say shahada in his prayers? For a person to be Muslim, he should say: "Ashahadu anna la Ilaha illa Allah wa anna muhammadan rasulu allah" Did prophet Muhammed say that or "Ashahadu anna la Ilaha illa Allah wa anni rasulu allah" I am just wondering because he is Allah's messenger so of course he knows that fact for sure so did he need to say it to be muslim?
What was the real motive for the wars of prophet Muhammed? History tells that prophet Muhammed was engaged in more than 35 wars. Muslims say that the motive for those wars was to spread Islam. If this was the only motive, why did prophet Muhammed and his companions loot properties and enslave women and children (considered as valuable goods by the time)? In other words, if the only motive was spiritual, was not he supposed to refrain from looting goods and enslaving people so that nobody would accuse him of piracy or offensive action? Before answering, please read the history of (Badr, Banu Korayza, Banu Koyanka'a, Khaybar, and most of his other wars).
How old was Aysha when prophet Muhammed married her? I( heard she was only 9 years old when prophet Muhammed married her. Even if that was acceptable tradition by the time, was not prophet Muhammed supposed to prohibit it (same as when he prohibited adoption)?
How did prophet Muhammed imagine the sun? There is a prophetic statement (Hadith) in Sahih Muslim that tell us that prophet Muhammed said: "On judgement day, the sun will get too close to the earth. When the sun gets 1 Mile away from the earth, people will start to SWEAT. Good believers will not sweat much, while bad people will sweat much more" Did prophet Muhammed really think that we will ONLY SWEAT when we get 1 Mile away from the sun???? I thought we would BURN if we get MILES AWAY from it http://ar.wikisource.org/wiki/%D8%B5%D8%AD%D9%8A%D8%AD_%D9%85%D8%B3%D9%84%D9%85_-_%D9%83%D8%AA%D8%A7%D8%A8_%D8%B5%D9%81%D8%A9_%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%82%D9%8A%D8%A7%D9%85%D8%A9_%D9%88_%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AC%D9%86%D8%A9_%D9%88_%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%86%D8%A7%D8%B1 http://www.al-eman.com/Hadeeth/viewchp.asp?BID=1&CID=157#s8
Is it true that prophet Muhammed stoned a MONKEY who committed adultery? There is a prophetic statement in Sahih Bukhary where prophet Muhammed tells his companions that he saw a female monkey that is being stoned (by other monkeys) because she committed adultery. When prophet Muhammed saw that scene, he helped the monkeys stoning that female monkey!! That statement really buzzled me: (1) Is there adultery among monkeys? (2) Does this mean that monkeys can also legitimately marry and have a marriage licence? (3) Was that female monkey aware of the consequences of the adultery (can monkeys perceive consequences and laws)? here is the link for the statement in its original Arabic language: http://hadith.al-islam.com/Display/Display.asp?hnum=3560&doc=0
Why did prophet Muhammed kick out a Jewish tribe and take over their lands and properties? Islamic history (Sahih Bukhary) tells that prophet Muhammed kicked a complete tribe (Banu Nadir) out of their lands and he took over most of their possessions, lands , and money. His only reason was allegations that two men of that tribe were planning to kill him while visiting them to lend him money. None of his companions, who were sitting with him, saw anything. Banu nadir also denied such an allegation. The only ground that prophet Muhammed had to kick them out was his own allegations, which he said was revealed from god. My questions are: (1) even if those two men were trying to kill him (although nobody saw them, even his own companions), was the punishment supposed to be for the whole tribe? (2) what was the reason to take over their lands, properties and money? I hope if anyone wants to answer to give me a short answer right to the point. No copy-and-paste please. How could prophet Muhammed make living aft prophet? History tells that prophet Muhammed used to work as a shepherd and as a trader before his marriage to Khadija, but it never told us how could he make living after being a 'prophet'? From my understanding that he had nine wives to support. He had 9 homes to look after. History tells us he had lands nad slaves. He even gave away slaves to his daughter, Fatma. When he died, there was a dispute between his daughter Fatma and the new leader, Abu Bakr, regarding a farm that he took over from Jews in war. Was this the only way he made living after being a prophet is by war? or did he do something else?
What was the reason from god to forbid the young widows of prophet Muhammed from re-marrying? There is a verse in Quran that forbids people from marrying the wives of prophet Muhammed after his death. Yet, many of his widows were so young (under 20) when he died at age 63! Those include Aisha, Hafsa, Safeya, Rayhana... and others What was the reason for god to forbid such young ladies from marrying? Lily You asked a very important question that I hope someone could answer it. I totally agree with you.
Is depicting Allah in a cartoon okay, whilst depicting the Prophet Muhammed is not? In the animated movie Persepolis, Marjane has interactions with God, or as I imagine it being Iran, Allah. After the relatively recent protests following the depiction of the Prophet Muhammed in a Danish newspaper, I was wondering why depicting Allah seems to be condoned, but not depicting Muhammed? Please excuse my ignorance, am just wondering.
Why did prophet Muhammed use assassination to settle many of his political conflicts? It is mentioned in Islamic history that prophet Muhammed used assassination to settle many of his political conflicts. He had sent people to assassinate many of his enemies, including Asmaa Bint Marwan, Abu rafi'e Ibn Abu El Hakeek, Khalid Ibn Sofyan, Abu Swaylam, and many others. I understand that prophet Muhammed had very strong army, so why did he use assissanation, which does not seem to fit a prophet?
Did prophet Muhammed really think that yawning is act of the devil? There are many prophetical statements narrated by most Muslim scholars (Bukhary, Muslim Tarmazy, Abu Dawood... etc) that all tell that yawning is the act of the devil and people should NOT yawn because the devil enters their mouth when they do that. It also says that god hates yawning and loves sneezing! I am a little surprised. I think that there are similar statements in the bible (probably prophet Muhammed had that wrong idea about yawning from the bible). However, modern science says that yawning is just a physilogical act and the devil has nothing to do with that. Why should god hate yawning and love sneezing?
Why apostates try to accuse only prophet Muhammed? I have read many questions posted by apostates, athiests...etc. In those questions, I always see that they try to accuse prophet Muhammed with different things while I have never any other questions accusing Jesus with anything. I think they are the same people who don't believe in prophecy, so why when it comes to prophet Muhammed they use a strong language and when it comes to jesus they don't use the same, although they don't believe in any of them?
Why did prophet Muhammed said that a piece of carpet is better than a woman who can not get pregnant? There is a prophetic statement told by prophet Muhammed that says that a piece of carpet at your home is better than a woman who can not get pregnant. (1) Did prophet Muhammed really say that? (2) Is not that considered as discrimination against women who can not get pregnant? By the way, the above statement is mentioned in many books, including the most-famous book: "Ihya'a Oloum Al Dien" by Al Ghazaly: http://www.al-eman.com/islamLib/viewchp.asp?BID=383&CID=22
How did prophet Muhammed punish his warrior who committed war crimes? I read in the Islamic history that prophet Muhammed sent a (warrior) to promote Islam for some people. After that warrior (his name was Khalid Waleed) did his job, some of those people did not show very good faith in Islam and therfore the warrior KILLED many of them and captured others. He later tried to KILL those who were captured. When prophet Muhammed knew about those crimes, all what he did is that he denounced it and announced for people that he did not order that warrior to do what he has done. That is it! After the war crimes committed (killing people with no reason and trying to kill prisoners), there was no trial for the warrior, no further denouncement. NOTHING. Actually, prophet Muhammed sent that warrior over and over again to fight for Islam! Was not prophet Muhammed supposed to at least dismiss that warrior from leading more Islamic armies? Did prophet Muhammed really kill people in such horrific way? I read a horrific story in Sahih Bukhary [226 & 5254] and also in Sahih Muslim [3162]. The story is about some people who had some illness and threfore prophet Muhammed sent them with his servant to drink camel urine and milk. Once those people became just fine, they killed the servant and stole the camels. Prophet Muhammed sent his companions to arrest them and he cut off their legs, hands, and eyes and he threw them in the desert until they died by hunger, thirst and heat. I am not arguing the crime those people committed. My question is about the horrible, inhumane punishment. Was not prophet Muhammed (who had the wonderful teachings about mercy) supposed to simply kill them instead of that horrific torture? http://hadith.al-islam.com/Display/Display.asp?hnum=3162&doc=1 http://hadith.al-islam.com/Display/Display.asp?hnum=5254&doc=0 http://hadith.al-islam.com/Display/Display.asp?hnum=226&doc=0
Why did prophet Muhammed swear to kick all Jews and Christians out of Arabian peninsula? There are many prophetical statements from prophet Muhammed that tells he swore many times to kick out all Jews and Christians from arabian peninsula and only Muslims would live there. He already kicked out all Jewish tribes (Banu Nadir, Banu Koyanka'a, and Banu Korayza) and his followers completed that mission that he set. Was not this some kind of racism to kick people from their lands based on their religion? The statements are too many to mention. However, you can start with those links and I am sure you can find many more: http://hadith.al-islam.com/Display/Display.asp?hnum=3312&doc=1&IMAGE=%DA%D1%D6+%C7%E1%CD%CF%ED%CB http://hadith.al-islam.com/Display/Display.asp?Doc=1&Rec=4256 http://hadith.al-islam.com/Display/Display.asp?hnum=14189&doc=6&IMAGE=%DA%D1%D6+%C7%E1%CD%CF%ED%CB http://hadith.al-islam.com/Display/Display.asp?hnum=1531&doc=2&IMAGE=%DA%D1%D6+%C7%E1%CD%CF%ED%CB http://hadith.al-islam.com/Display/Display.asp?hnum=2635&doc=4&IMAGE=%DA%D1%D6+%C7%E1%CD%CF%ED%CB wf Thanks for your smile that make me laugh. You say that the Jews converted to Islam or left volunteerly. Have you ever heard of the following holy Islamic battles (Ghazwat): 1- banu Nadir (muslims kicked the whole tribe out and took over all their lands and properties) 2- Banu Koyanka'a (same as above) 3- Banu Koraiza (muslims killed all Jewish men, including little boys who have just attained puberty, and enslaved all women and children) 4- Khaybar (killing, enslaving and looting) 5- others....
Why did prophet Muhammed give permission to rape the women of the countries invaded by Muslims? There is a verse in Quran [4:24] that prohibits Muslims from having sex with married women UNLESS if they were enslaved during wars. Based on that verse, companions of prophet Muhammed used to rape women from the countries they invade, even if those women were married. That was mentioned in many Islamic books, including Sahih Muslim (2643), Tarmazy (1051), Abu Dawood (1841), Nasai'i (3281), and many other books. I am a little confused about this permission because I thought that the Islamic wars were to spread Islam and its beautiful teachings that apparently should not include such horrific teaching. Does anyone know anything about this confusion? There is also a similar Hadith in Sahih Bukhary (4809)

What does it mean when prophet Muhammed says he was given victory by terrorising people? There is a famous prophetical statement told by prophet Muhammed and narrated by Bukhary, Muslim and other scholars. The statement says that prophet Muhammed said about himself he was so special person because he was given victory by terrorising people and also because god allowed him to loot his enemies. Does anyone know what does this mean? did prophet Muhammed really terrorise people like what he said? and did he loot other people also? pineapple Open any hadeeth book and you will find the statements. It is told in almost all hadeeth books. How could prophet Muhammed spread his word by invading other villages? There is a story in the Islamic history about a battle called "Sareyat Al Kadeed" where prophet Muhammed sent his companions to invade a neighbour village. The story tells that the Muslim army waited outside the village and watched until the night came in and people went to bed, then the Muslim army invaded the village where they killed, enslaved and looted all the valuables and brought them back to prophet Muhammed. Was that the only way for prophet Muhammed to spread his word? The story did not even mention anything about preaching the words of prophet Muhammed. This is the story (in its original Arabic): http://sirah.al-islam.com/Display.asp?f=mga1536 You can also find it in any Islamic history book (in Arabic) such as Ibn Hisham, Al Wakidy...etc
What did prophet Muhammed allow his companions to do with the women they enslaved in wars? There is a prophetic statement in Sahih Bukhary about prophet Muhammed companions who enslaved some women during a battle and they had sex with those women but did not want their semen to come inside those women (fearing that the women might get pregnant). When prophet Muhamemd know of what his companions were doing he told them they can have FULL SEX with those women and it does not matter if they get pregnant. http://hadith.al-islam.com/Display/Display.asp?hnum=1051&doc=2 Was that fair from prophet Muhammed?
Did Darwins Theory Include Prophet Muhammed ? When Allah had decreed for all to bow down -did the prophet find his way at sniffing round brown ? If allah had told the prophet to discontinue that -would muhammed go jim jones and pass out the vat ? Had allah told the prophet once and for all -that it was a sin for the prophet to evolve at all ? How could prophet Muhammed make his living? I am looking for someone to let me know how could prophet Muhammed make his living after his migrating to Medina. I know that he was a trader before his marriage and then he married a wealthy woman. My question is about after his marriage. Did he continue working after his marriage? and also after his migrating to Medina? Is it true that after his migration he made his living ONLY from the lootings he got during his wars?

Was that the only way he made living after being a prophet is by war looting? or did he do something else?

I read that prophet Muhammed (PBUH) kicked a complete tribe (Banu Nadir) out of their lands and took over all their possessions, lands , and money. Why did prophet Muhammed order Muslims to KILL anyone who leaves Islam? There is a prophetic statement told by prophet Muhammad where he ordered Muslims to KILL anyone who leaves Islam? Why did prophet Muhammed kill people who opposed him? Through my reading in Islamic history I found that prophet Muhammed used to kill people who opposed him. The list includes Asmaa Bint Marwan, Om Karfa, Abu Rafi'a, Kinana Ibn Al Rabie, Sowaylam and all his party members, and many others. I understand that prophet Muhammed came with new teachings that were revolutionary by the time, thererfore, why did he have to kill his opponents? he had the logic and the teachings, so why did he use the sword? Why did prophet Muhammed allowed his companions to eat the food tainted with flies? I read a prophetical statement from prophet Muhammed that tells his companions: "if a fly fell in your food, dunk the fly in the food, throw it away, and continue eating your food!". It also says that teh reason for "dunking" teh fly is because one wing has the disease and the other has the cure! Did the modern science approve that eating a food tainted with flies is healthy? I think science tells us that BOTH wings of the fly have disease with NO CURE on any wing.
Why did prophet Muhammed swear to go to kick all Jews out of Arabian Penninsula? There are many prophetic statements (Hadith) told by prophet Muhammed where he swears to god to kick all Jews from Arabian Penninsula. He also sweared to god not to allow any other religion but Islam in Arabian Penninsula. Does those statements stand with what we know about great Islamic values (equality, justice, tolerance, ...etc)?
Has prophet Muhammed ever had concubines (sex slaves)? I have heard many Muslims say that prophet Muhammed has never had any concubines (sex slaves). On the other hand, most of the Islamic books that tell the biography of prophet Muhammed tell that he had at least 4 concubines (in addition to his 9 wives). There is even a verse in teh Quran [1:66] that blames prophet Muhammed for not having sex with his concubines. The story behind that verse (as told by Ibn katheer, Al Kordoby, Al Tabari, Al Galalyn... etc.) is that prophet Muhammed was having sex with his concubine "Maria" in his wife's house when his wife caught them. To avoid a scandal, prophet Muhammed asked his wife to keep the secret and in return he would not touch his concubine again, but god did not agree with that and revealed that verse for prophet Muhammed to blame him for not enjoying sex with his concubines. Is it true that prophet Muhamemd had concubines? I am sorry, the verse is in Surat Al Tahreem [66:1] For friends who think that the story is incorrect, please read the following books and tafseers (in Arabic): http://quran.al-islam.com/Tafseer/DispTafsser.asp?l=arb&taf=KATHEER&nType=1&nSora=66&nAya=1 http://quran.al-islam.com/Tafseer/DispTafsser.asp?l=arb&taf=GALALEEN&nType=1&nSora=66&nAya=1 http://quran.al-islam.com/Tafseer/DispTafsser.asp?l=arb&taf=TABARY&nType=1&nSora=66&nAya=1 http://quran.al-islam.com/Tafseer/DispTafsser.asp?l=arb&taf=KORTOBY&nType=1&nSora=66&nAya=1 http://arabic.islamicweb.com/Books/taimiya.asp?book=105&id=83 http://www.al-eman.com/IslamLib/viewchp.asp?BID=400&CID=1#s35 http://arabic.islamicweb.com/Books/seerah.asp?book=5&ID=1714
Was prophet Muhammed merceful with the two girls who were forced to criticize him? Islamic history books tell that when prophet Muhammed conquered Mecca he gave his companions the names of ten people and asked his companions to KILL those people wherever they find them. Among people whom prophet Muhammed ordered to be killed were two girls who were slaved by a man who hated prophet Muhammed and their owner used to order them to sing songs that criticized prophet Muhammed. (1) Why did prophet Muhammed KILL those two girls for just criticizing him? (2) Why did not prophet Muhammed forgive them on basis that they were forced to criticize him? http://sirah.al-islam.com/display.asp?f=hes2521.htm http://sirah.al-islam.com/display.asp?f=zad3079.htm
Did prophet Muhammed have sexual relationships outside of marriage? Many Muslims told me that prophet Muhammed had NEVER had any sexual relationships outside of marriage. However, when I read the Quran and the biography of prophet Muhammed, i found that he had two sex slaves: 1- The first one was "Maria" who was a Christian sex slave given to him as a gift from the king of Egypt. The history tells that prophet Muhammed had sex with her without marriage until she gave birth to his son (IBRAHIM) and then prophet Muhammed freed her and married her. 2- The second one was Reyhana Bint Shimon, whom was enslaved during prophet Muhammed wars and refused his offer for marriage (like what he did with two other slaves) and preferred to stay in slavery instead of marrying him. Does anyone know why muslims always say that prophet Muhammed never had sexual relationships outside marriage although he had those two sex slaves? http://quran.al-islam.com//Tafseer/DispTafsser.asp?l=arb&taf=KATHEER&nType=1&nSora=33&nAya=50 Salafy In th... Of course I agree with you that Abraham had sex slaves (or hand maids), who was HAGAR, but muslims also deny this and they say that HAGAR was his wife! For people who AUTOMATICALLY deny this (such as Ahmed), I have already given a link to only one reliable source (Ibn katheer). You can find the same story in all other sources that tell the biography of prophet Muhammed
Did prophet Muhammed try to assissinate a man without justification? There is a story in the Islamic history books about prophet Muhammed who had a concubine (sex slave) with the name of Maria. When she became pregnant, prophet Muhammed's wife (Aysha) told him she can not believe he could be the father of the child. She told him that most likely the father of the child is another male slave whom prophet Muhammed had. When prophet Muhammed heard the allegations, he sent his cousin (Ali Ibn Talib) to KILL the male slave. Fortunately, when Ali was about to kill the poor slave, he found out that he HAD NO PENIS. I was shocked to read that story for many reasons: 1- I have always heard of the high morals of prophet Muhammed and therefore I could not belive that he was about to KILL someone without a proof. 2- I thought that prophet Muhammed was always backed by the all-knowing god, and therfore I did not expect him to get confused and to fall in such a terrible mistake.
Did prophet Muhammed send his companions to DEAL WITH his opponent? There is a story in Sahih Bukhary about prophet Muhammed who asked his companions if any of them would volunteer to kill someone (with the name of Ka'ab Ibn Al Ashraf) who used to oppose prophet Muhammed. The story tells that three of prophet Muhammed companions volunteered to KILL the man and they went to him after his wedding and CUT HIS HEAD and returned to prophet Muhammed with the man's head with them. When prophet Muhammed saw the man's head he cheered and thanked god. http://hadith.al-islam.com/Display/Display.asp?Doc=0&Rec=5978 Why did prophet Muhammed (who had all the wonderful teachings) send his companions to kill the man?
Why did prophet Muhammed prohibit his son-in-law from marrying another woman while he married 9 women? There is a prophetic statement that tells us that prophet Muhammed knew about the intention of his son-in-law (Ali) to marry another woman in addition to Muhammed's daughter (Fatma). When he knew that, prophet Muhammed got angry and he said he would not agree on that. Why did not prophet Muhammed agree on that although he himself was married to NINE women at the time? Some people say that the reason was that the new bride that Ali was going to marry was the daughter of Muhammed's enemy (Abu Gahl), but I am still confused because many of prophet Muhammed's wives were daughters of his enemies as well (Abu Sofyan as well as most Jewish tribes). Was there a real reason for prophet Muhammed to prohibit something while he himself was doing the same thing?
Did prophet Muhammed ever have sexual relationships outside of marriage? Many of my Muslim friends told me that prophet Muhammed had NEVER had any sexual relationships outside of marriage. However, when I read the Quran and the biography of prophet Muhammed, I found that he had two concubines (sex slaves): 1- The first one was "Maria" who was a Christian sex slave given to him as a "gift" from the king of Egypt. The history tells that prophet Muhammed had sex with her outside of marriage until she gave birth to his son (IBRAHIM) and then prophet Muhammed freed her and married her. 2- The second one was Reyhana Bint Shimon, whom prophet Muhammad enslaved during one of his many wars and refused his proposal for marriage (like what he did with two other slaves) and preferred to stay in slavery instead of marrying him. Does anyone know why Muslims say that prophet Muhammed never had sexual relationships outside marriage although he had those two sex slaves? http://quran.al-islam.com/Tafseer/DispTafsser.asp?l=arb&taf=KATHEER&nType=1&nSora=33&nAya=50
Why did prophet Muhammed ban his companion for marrying a woman who can not give birth? There is a prophetic statement ib many Islamic books about one of prophet Muhammed's companions who told prophet Muhammed that he wanted to marry a woman who was very beautiful and wealthy, but her only problem was that she could not get pregnant. Prophet Muhammed did not allow the man to marry that woman. After a few days the man asked prophet Muhammed again for his permission to marry the woman and prophet Muhammed refused. After few more days the man insisted to ask prophet Muhammad again for the permission and prophet Muhammad insisted on refusing that marriage and told the man the he should marry a fertile woman because he wants Muslim population to grow. I am asking whether that was some kind of racism against unfertile women?
Has prophet Muhammed ever killed his prisoners of war? There is a certain incident in the Islamic history that I could not quite understand. It is about two prisoners of wars who surrendered to prophet Muhammed during the battle (Badr). One of them was Nadr Ibn Al Harith, and the other was Akba Ibn Abu Mu'et. After capturing them, prophet Muhammed ordered both of them to be killed. One of them, Akba, asked prophet Muhammed for mercy and told him about his children and what should they do after his death, then prophet Muhammed simply said: "they go to hell"! The above incident is mentioned in most Islamic history books, including Ibn Hisham, Al Rawd Al Anf, Ibn Katheer...etc. http://sirah.al-islam.com/Display.asp?f=rwd3060 Did prophet Muhammed really do that? what was his reason for killing those prisoners of war?
Was it fair from prophet Muhammed to accept farm land owned by a Jewish tribe in return to not attacking them? Islamic history books tell that after prophet Muhammed invaded Jewish tribes at Khaybar and took over all their lands, there was still one remaining Jewish tribe in a neighbouring area called Fadak. That tribe were frightened from prophet Muhammed invading them (like what he had done for their neighbours), therefore they offered to prophet Muhammed to give him HALF OF THEIR LANDS in exchange for a word from prophet Muhammed not to invade them. For my surprise, prophet Muhammed accepted the deal. I was shocked when I read that story because I have always thought that prophet Muhammed was one of the most peacful men on earth and I have never expected him to frighten people to take their lands. Was there any reason fro prophet Muhammed accepting that large parcel of land?
How could prophet Muhammed marry the wife of the man he just tortured and killed on the same day? When I read the biography of prophet Muhammed I found a very strange story that tells that prophet Muhammed tortured a Jew man (his name was Kinana Ibn Al Rabie'e) to tell the muslims about a treasure he was hiding. When the man refused to tell the muslims about the location of the treasure, prophet Muhammed gave him to one of Muslim warriors and he beheaded him! The funny thing is that prophet Muhammed enslaved the widow of that man he just killed and proposed her marriage and promised her that he would free her from slavery if she marry him! Within one day from the killing of the ex-husband, prophet Muhammed married the woman (her name was Safeya Bint Hayie) and she submitted Islam! I am just asking how could a prophet marry the widow of a man he tortured and killed? and how come he did not give her any time for grieve? oops before anyone says this never happened, please see the link below (in Arabic) http://sirah.al-islam.com/display.asp?f=hes2447.htm http://sirah.al-islam.com/display.asp?f=hes2446.htm Taimur: Are you sure your answer addresses even the title of my question? Please read at least the title of the question before answering it!
Why did prophet Muhammed prohibt his son-in-law from marrying another woman while he married 9 women? There is a prophetical statement that prophet Muhammed knew that his son-in-law (Ali) had the intention to marry another woman in addition to Muhammed's daughter (Fatma). When he knew that, prophet Muhammed got angry and he said he would not agree on that. Why did not prophet Muhammed agree on that although he himself was married to NINE women at the time? Some people say that the reason was that the new bride that Ali wanted to marry was the daughter of Muhammed's enemy (Abu Gahl), but I am still confused because many of prophet Muhammed's wives were daugters of his enemies as well (Abu Sofyan as well as most Jewish tribes)
Why did prophet Muhammed kill his prisoners of war? There is a certain incident in the Islamic history that I could not quite understand. It is about two prisoners of wars who surrendered to prophet Muhammed during the battle (Badr). One of them was Nadr Ibn Al Harith, and the other was Akba Ibn Abu Mu'et. After capturing them, prophet Muhammed ordered both of them to be killed. One of them, Akba, asked prophet Muhammed for mercy and told him about his children and what should they do after his death, then prophet Muhammed simply said: "they go to hell"! The above incident is mentioned in most Islamic history books, including Ibn Hisham, Al Rawd Al Anf, Ibn Katheer...etc. http://sirah.al-islam.com/display.asp?f=... Did prophet Muhammed really do that? what was his reason for killing those prisoners of war?
Why did prophet Muhammed try to threaten Jews to embrace Islam? There is a prophetical statement told by prophet Muhammed and narrated by Abu Dawood (3001) that after winning his first battle against Pagans, prophet Muhammed asked his Jews neighbours to embrace Islam and threatened them that if they do not do so, they would be defeated the same way the Pganas were defeated during their first battle with prophet Muhammed. Why did prophet Muhammed do that? I thought his mission was to deliver god's message and let people decide by themselves whether to embrace Islam or not. So, why did he threaten those Jews neighbours to embrace Islam? (by the way, two years later, prophet Muhammed kicked them out and took over their lands and properties)
Why did prophet Muhammed trade slaves? There are two incidents in prophet Muhammad's life that give me an impression that he did not mind trading slaves (especially pretty women): 1- The first incident is when prophet Muhammed sent one of his companions to KILL one of his opponents (Um Karfa). The companion killed the poor woman and enslaved her daughter. Prophet Muhammed took the daughter, kept her for a while and later he gave her to one of his uncles as a "GIFT". 2- The second incident is that when prophe Muhammed accepted a "GIFT" from the king of Egypt. The gift was a pretty girl whom prophet Muhammed had sex with her until she gave birth to a boy then he freed her (and it is said he also married her). Both incidents show that prophet Muhammed used to give and accept "GIFTS" in the form of HUMAN SLAVES. Does not this contradict what we heard about his high attitudes?
Did prophet Muhammed try to kill a man without solid evidence? I read in Muslim [4975] and also in Musnad Ahmed [13478] a story about prophet Muhammed who had a concubine (sex slave) named Maria and he had a son from her, but people told the prophet that she might had that son from a sexual relationship with one of her relatives; therefore, prophet Muhammed sent his devoted cousin (Ali Ibn Talib) to KILL the man. Fortunately, when Ali caught the man and started to slaughter him, the man defended himself by showing Ali that he had no penis. Therefore, Ali came back to prophet Muhammed and told him that he did not kill the man because he had no penis. My questions are: (1) I thought in Islam you can't kill someone for adultery (he was bachelor and therefore the maximum sentence should be lashing). (2) Even if the man was supposed to be killed, I thought to kill someone you need four witnesses like what Quran said. (3) I thought prophet Muhammed had a very good relationship with god to know from the beginning that the man had no penis.
Did prophet Muhammed try to kill a man without having evidence? There is a prophetical statement narrated by in Muslim [4975] and Musnad Ahmed [13478] that prophet Muhammed had a sex slave (hand maid) with the name of Maria whom he married later after having a baby from her. People told the prophet that she MIGHT had that baby from one of her relatives; therefore, prophet Muhammed sent Ali Ibn Talib to KILL the man. Furtunately, when Ali was going to kill the man he found out he had no penis. Therefore, he came back to prophet Muhammed and told him that he did not kill the man because he had no penis. My questions are: (1) I thought in Islam you can't kill someone for adultery (he was bachelor and therefore the maximum sentence should be lashing). (2) Even if the man was eligible to be killed (supposing he was married), I thought to kill someone you need four witnesses like what Quran said. (3) I thought prophet Muhammed had a very good relationship with god to know from the beginning that the man had no penis. http://hadith.al-islam.com/Display/Display.asp?hnum=4975&doc=1&IMAGE=%DA%D1%D6+%C7%E1%CD%CF%ED%CB Mesum I am sorry but you make me laugh. Would prophet Muhammed supposed to kill a whole tribe for a crime committed by some of its members? The Islamic history tells that prophet Muhammed had some evidence that some of the leaders of "Banu Korayza" tribe tried to betray Muslims and violate the treaty signed with them. Therefore, prophet Muhammed assigned someone (Sa'ad Ibn Mo'az) to judge them, and his verdict was to KILL ALL THE MEN in that tribe and enslave all women and children! To carry out the verdict, Muslims had to look at little boys' penis to see if they had attained puberty hair or not. If the boy had puberty hair, had would bekilled, otherwise, he would be enslaved! I am not arguing the evidence that prophet Muhammed had against the leaders of that tribe. I am just asking that even if it was true that the leaders of that tribe tried to betray Muslims, why did prophet Muhammed punish the WHOLE tribe (even young children)? By the way, it was known that Sa'd Ibn Ma'az (who was assigned to judge the tribe) had a prior fight with the tribe and he was dying at the time he gave the verdict as a result of an injury he had during that fight. Was not that a conflict of interest? Also, giving that he was dying at the time he gave the verdict, was he fit to give a proper verdict?
Did prophet Muhammed try to kill people in the most holy place for Muslims? Islamic history tells that when prophet Muahmemd conquered Mecca, he gave a list of 10 names for people whom should be killed wherever they were found, even if they were inside Ka'aba (the most holy place for Msulims). Among those people there were two concubines of one of his enemies whom his reason for killing them was that they used to sing songs that insulted him. Among them also a Muslim man who converted back to Paganism (I will ask about him in a later question). My questions here are regarding those two poor concubines (slaves) of one of prophet Muhammed's enemies: 1- Why did prophet Muhamemd want to kill those two girls just for singing some songs that insulted him? was insulting him considered a crime that should be punished by killiing? 2- Why did not prophet Muhammed give any consideration that those two girls were just slaves who had to carry out the orders they receive from their master? 3- Why did not prophet Muhammed even try to punish their master? More questions: 4- Why did prophet Muhammed violate the Quranic verse [3:97] that whoever enters the Ka'aba should be immuned from any revenge? Abdul: Not knowing the story does not mean it is a lie. The story is mentioned in ALL Islamic history books, including Ibn Hisham, Ibn Ishak, Al Rawd Al Anf, and others. You can even read some of those books online (in Arabic): http://sirah.al-islam.com/display.asp?f=hes2520.htm http://sirah.al-islam.com/display.asp?f=rwd4086.htm Good reading
Why did prophet Muhammed mistreat the children of his enemies? There is a prophetic statement told by prophet Muhammed and narrated by Bukhari where prophet Muhammed was asked whether it was permissible to attack the pagans at night with the probability of exposing their women and children to danger. The Prophet replied, "They (i.e. women and children) are from them (i.e. pagans)." and he said: "There is no protection from Allah and His Apostle (i.e., prophet Muhammed)" http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/fundamentals/hadithsunnah/bukhari/052.sbt.html [Volume 4, Book 52, Number 256] http://hadith.al-islam.com/Display/Display.asp?hnum=2790&doc=0&IMAGE=%DA%D1%D6+%C7%E1%CD%CF%ED%CB Was prophet Muhammed fair to kill little children because of his problem with their fathers?
Why did prophet Muhammed prohibit his companions from marrying infertile women? There is a prophetic statement about a man who asked the permission from prophet Muhammed to marry a woman whom he loves but she was infertile (could not give birth). Prophet Muhammed prohibited the man from marrying that woman. After a few days the man tried again but prophet Muhamemd insisted on not allowing the man to marry that woman. When the man tried for the third time, prophet Muhammed refused again and told his companions that they should marry fertile women because he wanted Muslim population to grow. Was it fair from prophet Muhammed to do that?
Is it true that prophet Muhammed praised a man who killed his wife for opposing him? a horrible story in the biography of prophet Muhammed that one of his companions KILLED his wife because she told him she did not like what prophet Muhammed was doing. After KILLING his wife, the man confessed to prophet Muhammed and told him she was very decent and kind to him but he could not stand her insulting prophet Muhammed. When prophet Muhammed heard that he praised the man. I was very surprised to read that story because I thought that killing should be a MJOR CRIME that should never be praised. http://hadith.al-islam.com/Display/Display.asp?hnum=3795&doc=4 (1) Is that story true? Did prophet Muhammed allow his companions to rape female war captives (even if they were married)? There is a prophetic statements in Sahih Muslim about prophet Muhammad who sent his companions to raid a tribe. The companions raided the tribe and captured many women. The statement tells that the companions refused to have SEX with those enslaved women because those women were married, but prophet Muhammed gave them the permission to HAVE SEX with those women (even if they were already married). The statement continues and tells that god PRAISED what prophet Muhammad and those companions did and revealed a Quranic verse for prophet Muhammed that says: "You can not have sex with married women unless they are your property (slaves)" [Al Nisa'a 4:24] http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/fundamentals/hadithsunnah/muslim/008.smt.html [Book 008, Number 3432] http://quran.al-islam.com/Targama/DispTargam.asp?nType=1&nSora=4&nAya=24&nSeg=1&l=arb&t=eng it true that prophet Muhammed allow such a horrible action?

Did prophet Muhammed KILL a man for not paying respect to him? Reliable Islamic history books (Ibn Katheer, Isaba,... etc.) tell a story of a man who was entering the mosque for prayers and did not salute prophet Muhammed when he passed by him. Prophet Muhammed called him and asked him if he thought that he was better than him, the man told prophet Muhammed he did not care much about that. Prophet Muhammed got angry and ordered his companions to KILL the man for not paying proper respect to him. Was it fair to KILL a man just for not paying proper respect? http://www.islamweb.net.qa/ver2/Fatwa/ShowFatwa.php?lang=A&Id=45095&Option=FatwaId http://www.al-eman.com/Islamlib/viewchp.asp?BID=272&CID=91 (all links are in their original Arabic language) http://www.islamweb.net/ver2/archive/showHadiths2.php?BkNo=25&KNo=6&BNo=183
Had prophet Muhammed ever ordered the TORTURE of any war captive? I have always heard (and believe) that prophet Muhammed was very peacful. However, I found a story in his biography that speaks about prophet Muhammed TORTURING a Jewish man (with the name of Kenana Ibn Al Rabie) to tell the muslims about a treasure that his people gave him to hide from the Muslims when they raided his tribe. The story continues until it tells that when Kenana refused to tell prophet Muhammed about that treasure, prophet Muhammed ordered his companions to TORTURE him until he died. Is that story true? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinana_ibn_al-Rabi http://sirah.al-islam.com/display.asp?f=rwd4038.htm
If prophet Muhammed had 9 wives, why did not he allow his son-in-law to marry another woman? There is a prophetical statement told by prophet Muhammed in Bokary (4829) that when his son-in-law (Ali Ibn Talib) was going to marry another woman (in addition to prophet Muhammed's daughter, Fatma), prophet Muhammed refused and said "NO, NO, AND NO. SHE (his daughter) IS A PIECE OF ME AND WHATEVER HURTS HER WILL ALSO HURT ME". I am a little surprised because prophet Muhammed himself had 9 (or 12) wives. Is this a double standard from his side?
Did prophet Muhammed treat all his enemies the same way? Islamic history tells that prophet Muhammed killed a WHOLE Jewish tribe (Banu Korayza) on allegations they were trying to aid his enemies (Pagan Koraysh). The history also tells that prophet Muhammed kicked out another tribe (banu Nadir) on allegations they were TRYING to assissinate him. On the other hand, when prophet Muhammed concuered Mecca and defeated his real enemies (pagan Koraysh), he forgived them despite all the wars they declared on him . I am a little confused, how come prophet Muhammed kill a whole tribe on allegations they were trying to aid his enemies and he later forgives his enemies themselves? If he had the intention to forgive his enemies, why did not he also forgive people who (allegedly) aided his enemies? Is not that double standard? AK I don't care about the punishment in USA. I am asking about something happened hundreds years before there is such a thing called USA. I am asking about a PROPHET, who said he came with revolutionary teachings.
Is it true that prophet Muhammed praised a man who killed his wife for opposing him? I read a horrible story in the biography of prophet Muhammed that one of his companions KILLED his wife because she told him she did not like what prophet Muhammed was doing. When prophet Muhammed heard that he praised the man. I was very surprised to read that story because I thought that killing should be a MJOR CRIME that should never be praised. (1) Is that story true? (2) Was prophet Muhammed just to praise somone for KILLING? It seems that I forgot to mention my original source, which is an authentic prophetic statement told by prophet Muhammed himself and narrated by Abu Dawood and Al Nisa'ii. This is the original statement in its original Arabic language: http://hadith.al-islam.com/Display/Display.asp?hnum=3795&doc=4
Why did not prophet Muhammed punish his companion who committed horrible war crimes? There is a story in Islamic history books about prophet Muhammed who sent some of his companions (led by Khalid Ibn Al Waleed) to a village to preach Islam. When those companions told the village people about Islam some of them did not show much interest in it. Therefore, the Muslim leader (Khalid Ibn Al Waleed) killed those people and enslaved some of them. When they returned to prophet Muhammed and told him about what their leader did, prophet Muhammed was not happy and told them he is not responsible or what Khalid did. The funny thing is that prophet Muhammed had never punished that leader for those crimes. Actually, he sent him back in another mission few weeks after that horrible crime. Was not prophet Muhammed supposed to punish that leader who comitted horrible war crimes?
Did prophet Muhammed forgive the woman who refused to convert to Islam? Islamic history tells that when prophet Muahmemd conquered Mecca, he gave his companions a list of 10 names for persons whom should be killed wherever they were found, even if they were inside the Ka'aba (the most holy place for Msulims). Among those people who should be KILLED was a woman with the name of Sara. The reason prophet Muhammed killed her was because she went to him once asking for some charity because she was broke, and prophet Muhammed gave her money and food on hope she might convert to Islam, but she took the money and food and returned back to her town without converting to Islam. http://sirah.al-islam.com/display.asp?f=mga1598.htm That story raises many questions: 1- Is refusing to convert to Islam should be punished by DEATH? 2- Was being a Muslim a condition to receive charity? 3- Why did prophet Muhammed violate the many Quranic verses that gave immune for people who enter the Ka'aba (the most holy place for Muslims)?
Was prophet Muhammed taught by a Christian priest? The biography of prophet Muhammed tells that prophet Muhammed had a relative (Waraqa Ibn Nufal) who was a Christian priest and he used to meet him regularly. The biography also shows that when that priest (Waraqa) died, prophet Muhamemd had NO MORE REVEALATIONS to the extent that HE ATTEMPTED SUICIDE many times. The above story gives the following hints: 1- There was unexplained coincidence between the death of the Christian priest (Waraqa) and the sudden stop of Quran revealation. 2- Prophet Muhammed was too upset for the death of Waraqa and the stopping of the revealation to the extent that he attempted suicide many times. 3- There is obvious difference in the lnaguage between the Quran verses that were revealed before the death of Waraqa and those revealed after his death. Does this mean that there could be some possiblity that the Christian priest Waraqa may have been the REAL AUTHOR of the Quran? http://hadith.al-islam.com/Display/Display.asp?hnum=6467&doc=0&IMAGE=%DA%D1%D6+%C7%E1%CD%CF%ED%CB http://www.rezgar.com/debat/show.art.asp?aid=82953 http://www.bible.ca/islam/dictionary/W/waraqa.html http://www.islam-watch.org/AbulKasem/WhoAuthoredQuran/who_authored_the_quran3.htm http://www.islamic-awareness.org/Quran/Sources/BBwaraqa.html http://www.answering-christianity.com/bassam_zawadi/was_waraqa_a_muslim.htm
Why did prophet Muhammed have too many wives? Through my reading in Islamic history I found that prophet Muhammed had 11 wives + 2 female slaves (Maria & Reyhana). This is in addition to at leasst 18 other women whom prophet Muhammed proposed for marriage, engaged or was about to marry. Many muslims claim that the two reasons for prophet Muhammed to have such huge number of wives were: 1- To give shelter for widows. 2- For political reasons. I am still confused because for the second reason, many of the ex-hudbands of those wives were killed by prophet Muhammed himself during his wars, while for the second reason he would achieve his political goals without having to marry all those wives (most of them were under 20 while he was about 60). Does anyone know the real reasons for this? Lily Of course I agree with you about the problem with king (or prophet David), whom is considered a prophet by all religions. Do you mean that prophet Muhammed was following what prophet david did? so, where is the evolution then?
Why did prophet Muhammed allow men to BEAT their wives? There is a verse in Quran [4:34] that says if you fear your wife will not obey you then advise her, don't share her bed and BEAT her. I have asked many Muslim scholars about this verse and they said that the beating should be very lightly. However, I found many Muslim books rely on a story told by prophet Muhammed in their explanasion for the verse: The story is that there was a woman who complained to prophet Muhammed that her husband slapped her on face and left marks on her face, then prophet Muhammed said that the husband should be punished, but God sent him this verse at this very moment so that prophet Muhammed turned the woman back and said that this is what god wants! How come god allow wives to be beaten although that was not common practice before Islam? http://quran.al-islam.com/Tafseer/DispTafsser.asp?nType=1&bm=&nSeg=0&l=arb&nSora=4&nAya=34&taf=KATHEER&tashkeel=0 http://quran.al-islam.com/Tafseer/DispTafsser.asp?l=arb&taf=TABARY&nType=1&nSora=4&nAya=34 abouterachess It seems that you selected ONLY one source and ignored ALL other sources (Kordoby, tabari...etc)
Why did prophet Muhammed allow husbands to BEAT their wives? There is a verse in Quran [4:34] that says that if you fear (JUST fear) that your wife will not obey you then you can advise her, don't share her bed and BEAT her. I have asked many Muslim scholars about this verse and they said that the beating should be very lightly. However, I found many Muslim books refer to a prophetic statement told by prophet Muhammed about a woman who complained to prophet Muhammed that her husband SLAPPED her on her face leaving visible marks on her face. Once the woman told her story, prophet Muhammed said that the husband should be punished, but God revealed to him the above verse [4:34] verse at that moment so that prophet Muhammed TURNED the woman back and told her that he can not punish her husband because that was god's will! How come god allow wives to be BEATEN although that was not common practice until Islam came? http://quran.al-islam.com/tafseer/dispta... http://www.al-eman.com/Islamlib/viewchp.asp?BID=248&CID=106
Why did prophet Muhammed try to burn his opponents alive? The Islamic history tells that prophet Muhammed was very sensitive to opposition. There are many stories about prophet Muhammed sending people to assassinate his opponents, but there is a really horrible story mentioned in (Sirat Ibn Hisham) that prophet Muhammed sent a man (with the name Talha Ibn Obaidallah) to burn a house where his opponents had a meeting at the time! You can read the whole story (in Arabic) in teh following link: http://sirah.al-islam.com/display.asp?f=hes2611.htm My question is why prophet Muhammed had to follow such horrific ways to convince his people although he had the logic and the wonderful teachings? Biomimetik Is this your way when getting pissed off someone is to copy and paste a COMPLETE BOOK? why did not you simply answer the question instead of torturing me with reading a whole book to find out that it did not answer my question?
What did prophet Muhammed promise his wife? There is a story in Sahih Bukhary about prophet Muhammed who was spending the day at one of his wives' homes (Hafsa) and he gave her a permission to go and visit her parents, then he invited his concubine (sex slave) Maria to have sex with her. Unfortunately, his wife (Hafsa) caught him and she was angry at him so that he swore to her not to touch his concubine (Maria) ever since. However, after a few days god revealed two verses from the Quran to prophet Muhammed allowing him to have sex with Maria and blaming him for not enjoying her [66: 1-2]. The whole story is mentioned in Sahih Bukhary and also in the Quran (see the link in its original Arabic language): http://quran.al-islam.com/Tafseer/DispTafsser.asp?nType=1&bm=&nSeg=0&l=arb&nSora=66&nAya=1&taf=KATHEER&tashkeel=0 I was shocked to read that story because I have always thought that prophet Muhammed had never had sex outside marriage. Does this story stand with what we know about prophet Muhammed's high morals?
Why did prophet Muhammed want his followers to fight although many of them did not want to? When I read the Quran, I found many verses that tell that early Muslims (the companions of prophet Muhammed) did not really want to fight, but prophet Muhammed had to encourage them (and even threaten them) to fight. This can be found in many Quran verses such as [47:20; 8:65; 4:77; 9:81; 4:95; 9:86] and many other verses. This can also be found in many prophetical statements told by prophet Muhammed. My question is why was prophet Muhammed eager to fight although many of his followers preferred to live peacfully?
Did prophet Muhammed CURSE Jews and Chrsitians? There are many prophetic statements told by prophet Muhammed where he CURSED Jews and Christians because they used to bury their deads in synagogs and churches. I wonder why did prophet Muhammed CURSE someone for doing something he believes is right. I do not think that burying deads in a church should harm anybody. So, what was the real reason for prophet Muhammed to CURSE Jews and Christians? I am afraid people who say that prophet Muhammad did not CURSE anyone do not know much about their own religion: http://hadith.al-islam.com/Display/Display.asp?hnum=4089&doc=0 http://hadith.al-islam.com/Display/Display.asp?hnum=3195&doc=0 http://hadith.al-islam.com/Display/Display.asp?hnum=826&doc=1 http://hadith.al-islam.com/Display/Display.asp?hnum=825&doc=1

Has prophet Muhammed ever ordered anyone to be tortured? My Muslim friends have always told me that prophet Muhammed was very peacful. However, I found a story in his biography that tells that prophet Muhammed tortured a jewish man (with the name of Kenana Ibn Al Rabie) to tell the muslims about a treasure he had hidden when Muslims invaded his tribe. The story continues until it tells that when Kenana refused to tell prophet Muhammed about that treasure, he was finally KILLED (after being tortured). Did prophet Muhammed regard women as property that might be given as a GIFT? There is a story in teh Islamic history books about prophet Muhammed who sent his companions to KILL a woman who used to oppose him (her name was Um Karfa). His companions killed the woman and enslaved her daughter. The story tells that prophet Muhammed kept the enslaved daughter for his own pleasure for a while and then he gave her as a GIFT to one of his uncles. Does this mean that prophet Muhammed regarded women as a property that could be given as a gift? For friends who simply deny anything thinking that is the best way to keep a good image of what they believe in, please see below the source for the story from the most reliable Islamic history books (all in its original Arabic language): http://sirah.al-islam.com/display.asp?f=hes2722.htm http://sirah.al-islam.com/display.asp?f=rwd4239.htm
Why did prophet Muhammed kill people in such horrific way? I have read in Bukhary [226; 5254] and also in Muslim [3162] that some people were sick and threfore prophet Muhammed sent them with his servant to drink camel urine and milk. Afterward they became just fine and they killed the servant and stole the camels. Prophet Muhammed sent his companions to arrest them and he cut off their legs, hands, and eyes and he threw them in the desert until they died by hunger, thurst and heat. My question is: No doubt those people committed a crime and they had to be punished, but ... is not the way prophet Muhammed punished them too severe? It would not be more human to simply kill them? I know that by the time the incident took place there was nothing in Quran for how to punish killers, but I am asking about how propohet Muhammed was supposed to react, even without god's words, should he do something more human? I am just asking this question because I hear people always say that prophet Muhammed used to have alot of "Mercy" One more question, is not that a conflict-of-interest from prophet Muhammed to give the verdict in the case although he was the one whose cattle been stolen? http://hadith.al-islam.com/Display/Display.asp?Doc=0&Rec=394&SearchText=???????+??+???????+????????+&SearchType=root&SearchLevel=root&Scope=all&Offset=0 anjelica_77 The references I cited are Bukhary and Muslim, which are the most (and only) two authentic sources for hadith. How can I know prophet Muhammed well without reading them? do you have other referneces? Did prophet Muhammed really care about Muslims? There is a horrible story in Islamic history (Ibn Katheer, Sahih Bukhary, Sirat Ibn Hisham...etc) that prophet Muhammed sent his companion, Khalid Waleed, to promote Islam for some people and they accepted it but they did not show very much interest in Islam. Hence, Khalid killed many of them and enslaved others. When prophet Muhammed knew about that, ALL what he did is that he denounced what Khalid did. That is it. He did not punish him for killing people. Actually, after a few days, he sent him again to fight for Ilsam and he called him "The sword of God"! My question is that since Khalid killed many people with no real reason, did prophet Muhammed really try to punish him for murder and war crimes? http://hadith.al-islam.com/Display/Display.asp?hnum=6652&doc=0 http://hadith.al-islam.com/Display/Display.asp?hnum=3994&doc=0 http://hadith.al-islam.com/Display/Display.asp?hnum=5310&doc=3
Was prophet Muhammed really given victory by terrorizing people? There is a famous prophetic statement told by prophet Muhammed and narrated by Bukhary, Muslim and other scholars. The statement says that prophet Muhammed said about himself he was so special person because he was given victory by terrorizing people and also because god allowed him to loot his enemies. The above statement is in most Hadith book. You can also try some of the following links: http://hadith.al-islam.com/Display/Display.asp?hnum=323&doc=0 http://hadith.al-islam.com/Display/Display.asp?hnum=812&doc=1 (1) Does anyone know what does this mean? (2) Did prophet Muhammed really terrorize people like what he said? (3) Did he loot other people also like what he said?
Was it fair from prophet Muhammed to marry 6-year old Aisha? The Islamic history tells that prophet Muhammed married Aisha when she was 6 years old and had sex with her when she was 9 years old. Islam apologists also claim that Islam was the first religion to prohibt marrying any girl without her consent. I have two certain questions here: (1) Was it fair from prophet Muhammed to marry Aisha without asking her permission? (note that she was only 6 years old and she was not able to give any permission. Also, not that there is a statement told by her in Bukhary that she was playing on a swing and some women took her to prophet Muhammed and she did not know why they were doing that) (2) Was it fair from prophet Muhammed to marry a 6-year old girl while he was 53? He did not think that she was supposed to enjoy her childhood and to enjoy her own selection of her own man-of dreams? (3) Was it fair from prophet Muhammed to make it prohibted for her to marry again after his death although he knew she would be widow in a very young age? In my questions, I am only trying to focus whther it was fair or not. I am not talking about why did he do that or anything else. Also, the history tells she became a widow when she was only 18 years old and she could not marry after that because there was a Quranic verse that prohibts her from marrying again. zigzagaha Please provide your reference that says she was 12 when he married her. If you read Sahih Bukhary you will find at least 6 statements that she was 6 when he married her and 9 when he first had sex with her. Kimberly: I totally agree with you and from what you say there is some gap now between Islamic teachings and history from one side, and Islamic practice from the other side. magistra_lin... I always hear that Islam was created for all times and places. This is why most muslims still wear hijab, jilbab, use sowak...etc. Just to mimic what prophet Muhammed was doing exactly. Also, even if that was acceptable those days, it should have been changed by a prophet who receives his message from god. Also, I am asking about ABSOLUTE FAIRNESS, which does not depend on time. I am asking about values, not traditions. I did not ask why did not she wear a skirt or why did not he use an iPod, I am asking about ABSOLUTE VALUES. sebekhoteph I agree with you that this was common practice at the time. In this case, why Islamic apologists always say that Islam was the only religion to prohibt it? (I mean marrying a girl without her consent) askmuslims1 Your answer is confusing me. I don't know him in person, but I have read alot about him. Instead of confusing me, can you simply answer the above three questions?
