Why is there not a single ISLAMIC country in the list of top thirty countries in the HDI.?

The Human Development Index (HDI) was developed in 1990 by the Pakistani economist Mahbub ul Haq. It is a comparative measure of poverty, literacy, education, life expectancy, childbirth, and other factors for countries worldwide & is a standard means of measuring well-being, especially child welfare. In the list of top thirty countries there is not a single Islamic country which should have been the case as they control most of the world’s oil & the associated revenue. 1. Yes the mideast has a huge source of revenue, however the wealth is owned by very few. They have some of the richest and poorest people and unfoutounatly more of the later. Kind of like during the irish potato fammine, the weathly don't help out the poor, for the most part.
2. This is not religious it's pure political problem.
3. Sadly, the Islamic countries care very little for human rights or development. I am not saying it is the religion that dont support rights and development, but the sad truth is that the "Islamic" countries are ruled by extremist NON religious people, who care more about hogging the oil profits for themselves, rather than to use it for developmental benefit. It is NO surprise to me that out of only 30 countries, there are NO "Islamic" countries included. Please understand that I dont mean to badmouth Islam, or Muslims- but the true Muslim people usually get shafted by their governments. Democratic countries regularly shaft their citizens as well, but because of democratic constitutions, there are always developmental programs. I agree very much with byefareed - it is a political thing, not religious!

5. I really wants to comments on this, Islamic countries donot think for their peoples " their thinking mind is differents, they only wants to rules rules over poor peopels, they spread wrong messages to others, they donot involbe basic education to their school,they donot give rights to womens,
6. i can't understand why would OUR religion be the cause of this ??.. Their is nothing in Islam that contradict with development .. if Muslim countries are not developed enough it's because when the union of the Muslim countries was broken few centuries ago .. every and each country became a single entity .. And because of the strategic existence of the Muslim countries and because of the natural resources in Muslim countries .. they were invaded most of the times afterwards .. which prevented them from developing .. and kept them weak and vulnerable .. Also because Muslim countries couldn't unite once again kept them behind on the track of development .. While Europe and North America and Russia .., etc. .. are uniting and grouping .. And don't forget that while all Europe (Mostly Cristian countries) was living in the dark ages .. Muslim countries was flourishing in all fields including science, medicine, arts , .. etc. Religion got nothing to do with development .. it's nature .. nothing remains the same .. some days you are up .. some days you are down .. law of nature .. That's all about Muslim countries ..
