Is it true that most Islamic countries do not allow anyone to promote any religion other than Islam?

I heard that most Islamic countries do not allow anyone to promote any religion other than Islam. Is this true? If it is true, why all western countries allow everyone to promote his religion freely? should not they treat Muslims the same way?

  3. yes, it's true the Iran constitution, for example, allow freedom of speech only within the limits of Islamic religion

  5. If Islamic countries aren't allowing anyone to practice freedom of religion, then they aren't good muslims. The Quran states that one can practice what he wants, for at judgement day you will not be allowed into heaven if you don't practice the teachings of Muhammed.

  8. yes, that is true & in some countries people promoting any other religion are often killed, as are muslims who convert to another religion, especially Christianity. One of the founding principles of America is freedom of religion, so any religion can be practiced here
  9. most of them yes, but who cares? people do it secretly and they are very successful. i've heard there are many ex-muslims who do not believe in islam any more. but some governments do that cos' according to islam if a muslim wants to convert to another religion, they should be killed. there are many ex-muslims that have to pretend, otherwise they would be killed.

  13. Actually, this is not true. There may be a country or two, but it certainly doesn't represent the rest of the Islamic countries. It's funny because of all the answers you've been given, none have been from Muslims, nor have any been to an Islamic country (save MaLes above me). So, here's your chance. I'm a Muslim and I've been to two Islamic countries. I just returned from a month in Egypt, and saw just as much diversity there as here in America. Christians walk just as freely as everyone else, and they have very beautiful churches proudly displaying the cross on every wall and rooftop. In fact, the Christian men of Egypt tatoo a small cross on their right wrist. Would that be a smart thing if religion other than Islam was forbidden? Then there's the fact that conversion TO Islam is harder than conversion FROM Islam. If a Christian wants to convert to Islam, wherever he goes to make shahadah, the imam sends him to his church first. Most of the time, when that happens, they are shipped off for intense Christian training where they rarely return anytime soon. You have great hatred for Islam and Muslims, one only needs to read your questions to realize that. It's such a shame that you waste so much time trying to villify Muslims and Islam, when you could instead be doing good for yourself, your family, and whatever else has importance to you. If you really want to see Islamic countries, go visit one! Even Bible in hand if you prefer. You'll see for yourself that your questions are based on no truth. Such a shame really.   14. I am Australian and not so long ago a person was killed in a country close by to us.. A country we have relations with, why was he killed you may ask... Because he reverted from Islam to Christianity.. I won't mention the name of the country, but I say as a Wiccan THAT SUCKS...
