Did prophet Muhammed try to assissinate a man without justification?

There is a story in the Islamic history books about prophet Muhammed who had a concubine (sex slave) with the name of Maria. When she became pregnant, prophet Muhammed's wife (Aysha) told him she can not believe he could be the father of the child. She told him that most likely the father of the child is another male slave whom prophet Muhammed had. When prophet Muhammed heard the allegations, he sent his cousin (Ali Ibn Talib) to KILL the male slave. Fortunately, when Ali was about to kill the poor slave, he found out that he HAD NO PENIS. I was shocked to read that story for many reasons: 1- I have always heard of the high morals of prophet Muhammed and therefore I could not belive that he was about to KILL someone without a proof. 2- I thought that prophet Muhammed was always backed by the all-knowing god, and therfore I did not expect him to get confused and to fall in such a terrible mistake.

Mohamed peace be up on him had a patient , no one be like him in his wisdom decisions . read these stories which i only find it in Arabic (idont know if you can read Arabic) the women that came when she discover that she is a adultery pregnant , and what he said about her. the man who came to him and said that her wife born a white son(they was black couple) and what he said to him . and many many of them i can't remember . the most important that its shows that he pick the merciful solutions and suitable for them both .
