Why did prophet Muhammed mistreat the children of his enemies?

There is a prophetic statement told by prophet Muhammed and narrated by Bukhari where prophet Muhammed was asked whether it was permissible to attack the pagans at night with the probability of exposing their women and children to danger. 1. Corrupted Hadith. Right under it it says something completely the opposite. I personally know that hadith that clashes with the teachings of the Quran is corrupt and I personally do not read it.
2. That contradicts with the Qu'ran on how to fight during wars, "NEVER HURT WOMEN AND CHILDREN", it's pretty clear in the Qu'ran, the holy heavenly text. What is this, a hadith? Something that may be false, written 200 years after the death of Muhammad? Well since it contradicts the Qu'ran....hmm, Qu'ran = God's word, Holy. Hadith = Man's word, maybe falsified. Therefore, this hadith is false.

4. I think that most of the hadith are corrupted because these were written many many years after the events narrated in them. So are the Hadith trustworthy?
