Could the reason there are so many abuses in "Islamic" countries be that none of them are truly Islamic?

That's what I know for sure, that they do not follow Islam, especially in the treatment of women. What is your take on this? "Hence, Islam in its original state gave women privileges and imposed no harsh restrictions or double standards upon them. However, with the progression of time, the rights of Muslim women began deteriorating, and today, very few Muslim countries adhere to the Islamic ideal in their treatment of women. This deviance from Islam can be seen when evaluating the rights that women possess in different countries."

2. As salaamu 'alaikym warahmatullahi wabaraktu, my friend. As the time between the death of the last Prophet, Muhammad, peace be upon him, his family and his followers, lengthened, along with the eventual demise of his companions (those who had first hand knowledge of him and the process of revelaation that was his life), the cultural practices of each country began to come back into the scoieties of the same. Sadly, these once again became the accepted practice and a stricter adherance to a purer Islam ( which is, in this ones humble opinion, much to be desired in the hopes that such will be re-established) as the same was revealed in the Holy Qur'an and by the life of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be uopn him, his family and his followers, faded. Those who sought power rather than seeking Allah Subhanna wa Ta'ala used this resurgence of custom to bulster themselves and to aquire the same. After a period of approximately 250 years, those who were then practicing Islam were no longer in "touch" with the spirit of the same as it had been originally presented. (According to Pro. George Mendenhall as expressed in his tome ,"The Tenth Genreation", such as been a common occurrance throughout history in regards to governments, relgions, etc.) The further removed the practicioners became, through the passage of time, with this founding spirit, the more past cultural norms became entrenched with their return. Let us each pray that Allah Subhann wa Ta'ala will be so merciful and generous as to allow a resurgence of Islam to occur in its purest form where peace, tolerance, love and brotherhood, the family, the ummah, justice and equality can and will flourish again for the benefit of the faithful and for all of mankind. 3. in the name of ALLAH most compassionate most merciful the reason these are human don't look at them just Muslims and judge a religion because of them, and do you know how many Christian and Jewish are doing the same thing ? and it's on the other side to so you will find men get abuse from the women ,so men and women are human not Muslims and christian and Jewish, and if you think that way ask your self where did you get this idea from ? did you go and search for it your self or did you read it in one of those 2 $ magazine!!

As salaamou alikum wrwb, Well as far as i know people must realize Muslims are human like any one else. and it seems that society look at Islam as the only "wife beaters" are something. if man hits his wife in Islam it is a great sin and he will pay dearly for it. There is no true Islamic state as it was in the Prophets(SAW) time I always say Islam is by the Heart not place because you a lot of Traditional things instead of Islam a lot of Bid ah. A true believer will know how to treat is family and handle his are her business by following Kitab-ul Allah and The Sunnah if truly a believer did so there would not be this problem damaging this Ummah
