why did Saeed Anwar decided to become islamic preacher after retiring from cricket?

Saeed Anwar of pakistan who holds the record of scoring 194 runs in one day cricket retired around late 2003. But after that he decided to become something similar to a mullah where he started keeping huge beards, and wearing strange customes and talking islamic fundamentalism in mosques and similar. I understand there's nothing wrong in doing that and its his personal choice, but having looked at a video of Saeed in youtube.com i could hardly recognize that this is the same Saeed Anwar who played high quality cricket. First of all it’s his own life he can live according to his own choice. 2nd the problem with Pakistani Muslims is that they are living in false illusion, they think that by changing just their outer appearance they will go to heaven and will get 72 virgins. 3rd In reality the Pakistani Muslims are the worst in every day to day life dealings. 5. Well... Yousuf Youhana, a christian, can become a Muslim and then grow beard like a honeycomb, then I am not surprized Saeed Anwar becoming a mullah.. That's how 99% of muslims want to be. If my God is so true, I would think why he dumped very few of his children amongst so many kafirs.. ahem.. non-believers and making the place miserable to live for his loved children.. But.. that's upto someone's belief. Now, linking 'who played high quality cricket' to 'becoming a mullah' is what is surprizing me.
