Arabic Language?
Is Arabic one of the easier languages to learn as a second language? I already speak American (incorrect form of english) and have taken like 3 years of spanish so I am ok at that. would the basic spanish I know help me in learning Arabic? oh I thought maybe spanish would help cause I heard someone who spoke arabic saying that it was easy to learn spanish for them because the sentence structure and some words were the same. Also my college offers the classes so im going to take it there. it is a very beautiful language and one i would love to learn. just thought I would get opinions on how hard it will be for me next semester.

- Arabic is one of the hardest in my opinion.
- l am sorry i think Medina is right after all she speaks Spanish and i do not so good luck every thing is difficult when you start it but it will get better
- There are some online courses for free...I started with the alphabet writting while I was pronouncing it...then to read..lol... I think I will try to learn words later...but I wouldnt say is easy coz u need to learn another alphabet!!! And well as u know spanish now...the pronunciation will be familiar to u and plenty of words as well...I wish u dont give up coz its a beautiful language
- well, i speak persian.. i say it's hard to learn how to write in arabic but i think you can learn much easier how to speak, but in my idea it's a hard language..
- I think that Spanish will not help you a lot. There are a lot of expressions in Latin languages which are derived from Arabic (for ex. oxalá que=hopefully in Portuguese comes of course from the Arabic word Insh'Allah=so God wants) It depends how you want to learn the language If you only want to speak it, you write down the expressions you need in your own way (so that you know the pronunciation). If you want to learn reading and writing, it gets a little bit more complicated. I spent a few years working in different Arab countries and tried to learn it. I learned some expressions, but never the real language. I could not read it or write-I find the writing beautiful- My biggest problem was the reading from left to right and the fact that the Arab language you learn in a course (book or school) is not spoken in every country meaning if you are able to speak Arabic in Tunisia it does not mean that the people in Egypt understand you 100%. Just for your info: I speak and write Luxemburgish (my native language), French, German, English rather well and I speak Portuguese, Spanich and Dutch. I understand Italian. Now I am learning Polish which is very difficult. This all just to tell you that I know of what I am speaking... But I wish you good luck and courage. Languages are the most interisting thing you can do to understand (and appreciate) other cultures.
- Don't be intimidated by the alphabet, it's not difficult to learn. The diacritical marks which indicate short vowel sounds are usually omitted but there are some general rules you will learn, and the taken in context of the sentence will also guide the pronunciation. You're correct in believing the sentence structure is similar to Spanish as well. The toughest thing for me was trying to master the sounds of ﻉ, ﻁ , ﻅ and ﺹ . And I still am unable to read the artistic script.
- u are right if u speak English and Arabic Spanish Will be easy. as a lot of the words in Spanish similar to Arabic and English. but Arabic language consider one of the hardest languages on earth. so u have to be fluent in Spanish to help u with your Arabic learning. And if u are faster learner, u can get the Arabic very quickly,
- Yes.. it's easy.. come and visit my blog.. http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-M0HhlJwwd6fCGBE6v8zFA2H3?p=110
- when it come to learning Arabic it is one of the the difficult because grammar rules are so difficult and need a lot of study but once you master it , you'll be able to appreciate the genuine beauty of it. sentence structure is totally different than that of Spanish {with all do respect to your friend} first because of the gender,,,, all words would be male exept for those that end in 't' or ت ! second, vocabulary is mass and a lot, which could be very useful, though! I'm not trying to turn you down but that's the truth when it comes to pronunciation,,, it'll be easy if you can speak Spanish [as you've said] because some letters will very easy to pronounce. such thing may not exhist in a non- Spanish- speaker! Good Luck ! حظ سعيد فى دراستك p.s. if you need any help, you know where to go ;)
