Why do Americans prefer dealing with consequences of problems instead of preventing them in the first place?
For example, instead of preventing diseases, we prefer to treat them after they already happen. Instead of preventing crime we prefer to punish the criminals after they already committed crimes. Instead of preventing Islamic terrorism (for example, by financing more tolerant groups within Islam) we prefer to fight the terrorists after they attack us. Why is that?

- Because thats how we roll in America. Whatever not everyone does that it just so happens that MOST people deal with the consequence rather then a preventative measure.
- We are just Horny I guess!
- Because we can't dance.
- It's human nature; none of us are prophets who can accurately predict the future.
- Humans are very unpredictable.....yes some of what you say is true but how can you predict what criminals will do unless you have some great psychic ability it's not possible to prevent some crimes and such, but showing strict consequences would be a good deterrent for those criminals who may try it in the future but there is always someone who comes up with a way to commit the same crime but in a different way....
- Pride precedes downfall.
