Why Most Of The Islamic Countries are undeveloped , Could It Be Because Of Their Religion?
As a person who born and now lives in a islamic country , I always ask myself why all of the countries with the islamic regime are not as developed as modern countries (almost in the west). As you know the time is changining rapidly and people of the such a countries are getting familiar with the another countries via communication tools like internet , i'm sure there are lots of youth who has a same question .

- wise up.. i don't think you would be doing so well if you lived in a desert
- But if you go back a thousand years (not that long in the scheme of things) they were way ahead of Christian countries culturally. Our math system comes from that culture. So I don't necessarily think it's religion - all over the world, civilizations rise up, have a good run, then die down and somebody else catches up and surpasses. Right now it's just that the west is dominant. Next it'll probably be Asia.
- Thats a very good question. Religion may have part to do with it, im not sure. I think a big problem is the economic disparity. The wealth is not shared equally within these countries. For example, Afghanistan, most of the money comes from poppies (heroin). So its the Top drug guys that are in charge making all the money. They have very corrupt governments, who also benefit by this money. The people that work for the drug lords, a lot of them dont want to but are threatened, they make very little money. I probably only touched the tip of a large ice berg, I hoped I helped a little. I know there are many other factors.
- LOL- This is a weird question. I am sure the religion has nothing to do with it as much as their economy would. Egypt is a pretty hip country and so is Kuwait and lots of other Islamic countries. If there are no jobs, or no real sturdy economic system, why would anyone want to get a computer? I am sure countries that are more developed economically are the ones that are technologically advanced.
- I think their climate and natural resources are the cause. It is only in the last century that oil has become a valuable commodity, so those countries with oil have the chance to put money into their infrastructure. They still have to deal with the vast majority of their land being barely usable. Some Muslim countries don't have oil. You can't bring a whole population from nomadic herders and subsistence farmers to first world economic standards over night. Some of those countries are doing an amazing job at trying though.
- I think its because its not as progressive and some of the leaders want to keep it how it is, conservative and not changing. some people think that technology like computers and internet are immoral.
- what country do you live in? most muslim countries are developed but of course they do have their country parts, but they have cities just like america and the whole backwards thing is just a stereotype from ignorant people in the west (US). i went to the Saudi embassy and saw this slide show about saudi arabia and i learned about their gov't and it is pretty cool, their version of a democracy is interesting, they have performed about a dozen sucessful separation of twins surgeries. they have the internet and phones just like america and they are open to change. you will find similar things in UAE, Egypt, Morroco, and other muslim countries. just because you are in the "outback", that doesn't mean that all muslim countries are like that,so do your research next time
- i dont know whats the logic behind it, surely if it was true islamic countries are under developed (which i dont agree in the first place) it couldnt be because of the religion. see dubai :)
