Read this hadith..and is your toilet sit facing the Qibla?
I saw this hadith and thought for a bit.....Alhamdullillaah both toilets in my house are facing to the opposite of the Qiblah. Is this hadith limited to those who are not using restrooms? for example if you are camping out in the woods etc, or those who live in places where they go out to the woods to relieve themselves? Muslim 104 The Prophet said: "When answering the call of nature neither turn your face or back to Mecca." "After excretion the right hand is not to be used, nor is a bone to be used nor camel dung. "Nor should you hold your penis with your right hand while urinating. Nor should you breathe into the vessel from which you drink." seat not sit. Northern: what is so extreme about this hadith? you are mis-using the term extreme. But then you might see it as extreme while we see it as an instruction from Our Beloved Muhammad(saw) the best teacher, the mercy to mankind. Hey maria whadda up?...you are lucky,,the benefits of living in a muslim country:0 even your toilet's are taken care of. InshaAllaah pray for me that I make hijra.

- I honestly believe that those quotes came from extremists. Come on now, Allah is much more merciful than that. Theres a verse in The Holy Quran where Allah Says: " It is not righteousness that ye turn your faces to the east or the west, but it is righteousness that ye praise Allah". (there are Muslims on here who can quote that verse exactly the way it's written.) so forgive me if I left out something. Edit- If it doesn't correlate with Allah's guidance, then I reject it. (pbu) Prophet Muhammed. Some of those Hadiths are a bunch of rumors. The Holy Quran, Surah 2 (The Heifer) verse 79. Then woe to those who write The Book with their own hands, And then say: "This is from Allah," To traffic with it For a miserable price!- Woe to them for what their hands Do write, and for the gain They make thereby. Now you can interpret that verse in any way your mind can comprehend. peace b multiplied un 2 U :)
- Yes, thats all correct. No, the builders here takes care of that. :) andddd as far as rest rooms are concerned, you cannot help it. if there is any other way out, go for it. otherwise you have to use it and repent. Allah knows the best and he is most merciful. What else can we do then if we have got nothing else :S ~! Prophet (p.b.u.h.) ordered Muslims not to face it or turn ones back to it while urinating or passing stool. The Prophet (p.b.u.h.) said: Do not face the Qiblah or turn your back to it while urinating or passing stool. [Reported by Imams al-Bukhari and Muslim ] This Hadith is an evidence of the prohibition of the mentioned acts. How are you sis, was missing you here :) Edit: yes, InshAllah whatever is good for you and for your family,I pray you get that. ameen :) stay safe Edit: I just wanted to remind some of the answerers here that Hadith which we have quoted here are from Saheeh Bukhari and you cannot deny it.~!
- Ive heard of that hadith before but supposedly 70% of hadiths arent true...but just incase i made sure about were my toilet is facing and thank god it is facing a diffrent direction
- no i dun think it makes sense. There r probably countless numbers of toilets inside the masjid-e-haram so that just contradicts this hadiths. I think we r suppose to make Islam easy for us and not blindly believe in everything. Common now, Islam is not about rituals. Defecating facing or not facing the kaba doesnt make one a good or bad muslim. How can i be disrespecting the kaba if im here 1000s of miles away? I hope ppl realize this. Rest is up to their common sense
- im surprised at some of the answers im seeing. how can someone not see anything wrong with defecating towards the ka'ba?..the direction we know as holy! never mind hadeeths, out of common sense and logic, it just seems careless and disrespectful.
- Yes i agree with you totally! I have read this before.
- lots of deviants on here rejecting hadiths - its basic adab not to face mecca when doing such acts "And whosoever honors the symbols of Allah, then it is truly from the piety of the heart." [Soorah al-Hajj (22): 32] ...
- You didn't remember that they didn't have bathrooms with walls in those days. Its makroob sure but not haram. There is such a thing as a door. ARE YOU STILL USING 3 ROCKS TOO TO WASH YOURSELF? OR WAS THAT SOME JINN FOOD? LOL!
- The saying of the Prophet not to turn your face or back to Mecca at the time of answering the call of nature is Saheeh. The other narration is also authentic. But, Islamic scholars are of the opinion that even though it is better to avoid facing our face or back to Mecca at the time of answering call of nature, there is no objection if there is any barrier in front when there is shortage of space. But, regarding using left hand for cleaning is prohibited by Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Upon Him) when the right is healthy. Prophet (PBUH) very strongly adviced this to his companions. So also holding penis with right hand while urinating is also makrooh.
