They explained why they beheaded the Russian men. For the atrocities Russia committed against them years ago. That does not justify what they did but their perverted view of Islam does basically preach and eye for an eye. In their warped minds they are justified in what they are doing. Why should the moderate Muslims have to denounce these terrorists? Every sane person knows the difference between extremist Islam and normal Islam, it is not worthy of denouncing. To speculate: It can't be all the groups. Chances are there is a group of "bad guys" that somewhere learned that this was how to behave this way--why should this reflect on all the people.
