Islamic Sharia Law against women is unavoidable in UK, will it soon be unavoidable in America?

Sharia law in UK is 'unavoidable' Dr Rowan Williams Dr Williams says Muslims should have a choice in legal disputes The Archbishop of Canterbury says the adoption of certain aspects of Sharia law in the UK "seems unavoidable". Dr Rowan Williams told Radio 4's World at One that the UK has to "face up to the fact" that some of its citizens do not relate to the British legal system. Dr Williams argues that adopting parts of Islamic Sharia law would help maintain social cohesion. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7232661.st...

  2. They want Sharia? Have them go back to the dark age third world hellholes where they can be happy and be subject to that barbarism. --Everyone would be happy that way.
  3. As opposed to the christian cult BS founded laws of America?
  4. We are all aware of the fact that he said that, we are also aware of the reception his comments received. There will be no Sharia law in the United States in my lifetime, or those of my kids.
  5. yeah, that should not happen in England, and WILL NOT happen in the US. It is part of our constitution. Congress shall make no law favoring any religeon, which has been taken to 'separation of church and state'. So, too bad.
  6. Thats the road America is headed down.
  7. Vote for the accused Muslim, and we will soon find out. him and his big mama Oprah, are out to change America, or that's their words to American, not mine Such a shame. people fall for his Bull crap.
  8. Wow, nobody's said Obama yet! Is it dying down? Rowan Williams is as irrelevant as the church he leads. I'm not sure if it's ego that motivates him or a need to have the Anglican Church given column space, but he comes up with the most ludicrous crap. If he's pushing some kind of progressive agenda with his renunciation of sections of the Gospel, fine. But if this Shari'a thing is in a similar vein, he's got it all wrong. You can't claim to be progressive by suggesting the introduction of different laws for certain sections of the community, just because they 'don't relate'. I'm all for reasonable immigration, but there has to be at least some conformance to the rules of an established society. Why do people want to emigrate anyway? Because things are going so great where they are? The UK will not adopt Shari'a law, nor will the US, nor will any free society...because we think of Shari'a law as the one which allows the stoning of women, chopping off of hands etc. While there are certain elements of Shari'a which are cruel and anachronistic, there are others very nuanced and worth investigation. But a C of E hippie cleric should assume that the general public knows little about that nuance and only understands what is portrayed...sure I'm all for self-education, but really, he must know that people are ignorant. If you're going to blurt to the media, use your bloody brain man. Edit: re Obama...spoke too soon.
  9. The law is higher than any religion. If they do not like that they should go back to where they came from. Period. None of this wishy washy politically correct stuff. Stand up for your nation and your bill of rights Britain.
