muhammad hadith?
Is it a true and verified hadith that says that Rasoolallah said that near the time of qyamat muslims will be divided into 73 factions of which only one will enter paradise. and this one will correctly follow the way of Allah (swt)like Muhammad and his sahabbas did. something like that. Is this true? if so, how are we supposed to know which one to choose? how are we to know how islam was followed 1400 years ago because every faction thinks they are right and everyone thinks that they are true to the quran and hadith? im confused

- not sure about that one but i now he said the the number of people who will enter heaven are like on white hair in a black goat or like a black hair in a white goat... just to show how easy it is to loose grip and follow the wrong path.. and thus one must always be careful
- The Hadith is authentic, and states: "My Ummah will be fragmented into seventy-three (73) sects. All of them will be in Hell Fire except one sect. They (the Companions) said: Allah's Messenger, which is that? Whereupon he said: It is one to which I and my companions belong". [Tirmidhi. 171] Who are they? That is a good question. Honestly, there is one main group that I really saw trying to stick to the sunnah. They are called the Salafees. They are one of the only people who even care for the likes of this Hadith. If you notice, they try to imitate the prophet (peace be upon him) and his companions in everything, even dressing. They are careful to fall into inovations; they see the importance of going back to the Quran and Hadeeths on the hands of the righteous predicesors. Tell me who else is this careful?
