? about hadith for Muslims only please!?

My friend and I kind of had a disagreement tonight about a hadith. She was telling me that she was delaying her isha prayer bc it is sunnah to do so. I told her that is not true what so ever and it is actually haram to delay your prayers even Allah says this is the Quran. (who can go agaist that?). She showed me the hadith. I do not think it was right what so ever. I have never heard of such a thing. The only thing I have heard of is doing extra prayers through the night. She said prophet Mohummad (saw) used to delay his isha prayers. But I find this to not be true what so ever. Can others please tell me their thoughts on this. ok so "IF" this is true then why would we have times that we must pray? And why would the mosque not be open all night for people just to come in whenever they want to do their Isha? And why does God not state this is the Quran? He says we should pray all prayers on time and not delay them. Also many strong hadiths state the same.

  1. Boy, that's heavy! Christians -- none of us -- are that FANATICAL! I hope you get some good advice!
  2. There is a hadith stating that one of the most pleasing acts to God is Prayer in it's time.
  3. True, it is a sunnah to delay the isha prayer so you do it right before sleeping. There is flexibility so if you plan on sleeping early and you are praying at home then do it when the time comes in. All other prayers are best to be done in the first 1/3 of the time. It is best to do Isha and then go to sleep directly afterward. Few things are "haram" so dont worry there is not that much rigidity. If someone is praying in the masjid then obviously they will join at the prescribed time. These blessed worship timings and actions give us structure in our life. These establish god consciousness and constant remembrance of Allah so we are always ready to leave this world and meet him. . .
  4. Is there a special prayer you can say to help give you cowards the courage to stand up against radical islam?
  5. I dont agree with your friend, it is better to do them on time. never heard of such a hadeeth.
  6. Not everything is stated clearly in the Quran. At least not to us normal human beings. The Imams (the Prophet's son-in-law +11 decedents of the Prophet) are the ones who were supposed to clarify these matters. And they did. The Prophet sometimes combined his prayers and he sometimes delayed it. But it was based on the circumstances. Also it is sooo NOT haram to delay it.
  7. Yes that is true: قال صلى الله عليه وسلم " لولا أن أشق على أمتي لأمرتهم أن يؤخروا العشاء إلى ثلث الليل أو نصفه ".[رواه الترمذي ، وقال حديث حسن صحيح]. وقال عليه الصلاة والسلام أيضاً: " ولولا ضعف الضعيف وسقم السقيم لأمرت بهذه الصلاة -العشاء- أن تؤخر إلى شطر الليل " رواه النسائي. If you understand Arabic this is the hadith where prophet Mohammad (PBUH) says that it's better to pray the Isha in the third of the night or the middle of it (Take the time between sunset and dawn and divide it by three or two) and that is only if it's not difficult for you otherwise you pray it in it's time without delaying.
