What is the benefit of counting letters and dots inside Al Quran?

I just find it's ridiculous to find some people are fighting because they have different result after counting letters and dots and Ayah. Alhamdulillah, we can find easily the miracle of Quran without counting dots and letters @ Muhammad If someone asks me, I will answer, count by yourself if you really want to know, coz I never count it by my self Why we inform something that we never know it's true or not?

  1. Bismillahi Rahmani Rahim Salaam Alaikum wa Rahmatullah There is no benefit in counting the letters and dots, nor in trying to find mathematical "patterns" in the words. This is a distraction from the message of the Qur'an, which is clear and open. Allah has said in the Qur'an (translation of which is below): “He it is Who has sent down to you the Book; in it are verses that are absolutely clear and lucid; they are the core of the Book: others are ambiguous. But those in whose hearts is perversity follow the part thereof that is ambiguous, seeking discord, and searching for its meanings arbitrarily. But no one knows its true meanings except Allah, and those who are firmly grounded in knowledge, they say: “We believe in it; the whole of it is from our Lord:” and none derives true admonition except the people of understanding.” (Al ‘Imran 3:7) This is a warning to us to stick to the plain and obvious meaning of the verses and to not seek out supposedly "hidden" meanings, as this is a means of going astray. This is a test from Allah to separate the believers from those who disbelieve, so we should be far from that and cling to the Qur'an and authentic Sunnah while separating ourselves from those who claim to have an "inner" knowledge of the Qur'an that "the unititiated" lack. And Allah knows best. Fi Aman Allah, Nancy Umm Abdel Hamid

  3. i'm not that sure but i have a few things u can do to collect good deeds like you recite surat al fatiha 5 times and u will recieve 7000 rewards
  4. lol, i remmember when i used to do that when i was in grade 3, but then my dad told me to read the quran and understand its meaning so that i get more good deeds
  5. maybe u could find a miracle
  6. salam alikom i totally agree...it's more useful to read the qur'an and understand it's meanings instead of counting letters and dots...
  7. Those unto whom We have given the Scripture, who read it with the right reading, those believe in it. And whoso disbelieveth in it, those are they who are the losers. (Holy Quran:2:121) Now some will soon say: "They were three and their dog was the fourth." The others will guess: "They were five and their dog was the sixth," and there are still others who will say: "They were seven and their dog was the eighth." Say: "My Rabb Alone knows their number. None but a few really know their correct number." Therefore, do not enter into discussion with them about their number except in a cursory way, nor ask anyone about the companions of the cave. (Holy Quran:18:22) Just ponder the two verses above and you will know what is important before Allah swt.
