  8. The majority of scholars in Islam agree that the duration of Mary’s pregnancy was normal & that was 9 months. http://www.islamreligion.com/articles/1398/viewall/
  9. Mary was pregnant with Jesus for nine months. She did not experience pain in giving birth to Christ. Catholics celebrate Christ's conception on March 25 and His birth on December 25. Peace! Rob
  10. In Matthew 1 and Luke 1:27-38 the apostles record the declaration of Mary's conception. Then in Luke 2:7-20 the birth of Jesus. There is no reason to believe that Mary's pregnancy with Jesus was less than a normal 9 month gestation period. The apostle Luke writes of John the baptist's conception by his mother Elizabeth who was Mary's sister--Lu 1:24. Elizabeth was 6 months pregnant when the conception of Mary was declared.--vss 25,26. Mary stayed with Elizabeth for three month until the time of John's birth--vs 56 Luke writes of the time when Quirinius was governor of Syria when a census was taken of all citizens to be registered under the decree of Caesar Augustus. --Lu 2:1,2. Joseph registered in Judea, which was also David's city, called Bethlehem, to be registered along with Mary....who was promised in marriage to him. (Just to clarify, they were legally husband and wife according to the custom of Jewish law. When a woman was betrothed in marriage and she had accepted they were considered legally married) Luke 2:1-5 it says that Joseph took Mary out of Galilee and the city of Nazareth to Bethlehem. After arriving in Bethlehem it says she was heavy with child. It would be reasonable to conclude they would travel the distance sometime before she was became heavy with child. It would also take them time to register and secure lodging before the birth of Jesus. Whilst in Bethlehem, Luke says in vs 6 the days were fulfilled for Mary to give birth. Even though the conception of Jesus was miraculous, this does not imply he was anything less than a full term healthy baby.
  11. 8-9 months if premature 7 months
