Why did prophet Muhammed use assassination to settle many of his political conflicts?

It is mentioned in Islamic history that prophet Muhammed used assassination to settle many of his political conflicts. He had sent people to assassinate many of his enemies, including Asmaa Bint Marwan, Abu rafi'e Ibn Abu El Hakeek, Khalid Ibn Sofyan, Abu Swaylam, and many others. I understand that prophet Muhammed had very strong army, so why did he use assissanation, which does not seem to fit a prophet?

Actually, I would like to know the source you are using. As a Muslim, I have never encountered this, though at the end of his life, when Muhammad (S) was near death and pretenders were cropping up, there was an incident where some companions of the Prophet were trying to bring down a pretender, and he had such a large following and strong fortress that they needed to sneak in and kill him in his sleep. Other than that, I cannot recall any such instances. If it is possible, I would like to know where you got this information, so I may study it.
His goal was to stop one person from hurting many. Another way of veiwing it it, is he choice their fate, being death, most likely because he didnt see much more then blood shed in their future. I really dont know the answer, this is a guess, how did I do?
Pretty simple, it gets rid of the opposition and they don't ever come back.. And you usually don't have to fight a long battle.

I'm moslem. First, I never heard that Muhammad kill his enemies because his political conflicts! Never! They only kill the enemies because the war! Where do you find that, call me now! He never kill easily. Person who killed Hamzah, Muhammad's Uncle, Wahsyi. Muhammad doesn't kill him! He only tell Wahsyi that Muhammad never want to see his face again. But, until Muhammad passed away, he never kill him! I'm very proud to him! For the Rebel, who answer this question before me, Muhammad is not a CHICKEN! The CHICKEN is you! It is a misguidance and misinformation compain to defame Islam. and it is only section of people who is doing all this. Saying as above is nothing but blaming to God as Muhammad is God's prophet. Any Prophet who soever he may be, neither say or do any thing at his discretion, it is revealtion from God, it is wording of God and at the behast of God. Now saying that Muhammad used assasination to settle political conflicts is absolutely wrong. If one look in true spirit in detail he finds, that at each moment of his preaching he remain peaceful. because islam itself mean peace and salvation. Islam is spread on peace. 3 billion people have embraced Islam in the world,. beccause its teachings are so good and nice that it clearly indicates why people are sent in the world and how should he lead his life to be different from animals. Quoting the example by you is also wrong and misinformation without seeing detail. go in detail, you find that the war was only made with those who attacked muslims, did injustice to their families, and used power to stop Muhammad p.b.u.h. from preaching what God wanted him to say to the people like other prophet of God. Muhammad (p.b.u.h) has always been weeping in the night and praying God to please forgive my poeple of time unlike other prophet who have been cursing their people of time for not believing that God is one and God sent his devine destruction on them. but Muhammad even never cursed his people and has always beebn praying for guidance. All prophet will come to Muhammad during doomsday and ask for pardon from God as he is the beloved prophet of God. Even if you read the history you will find that it was strictly forbiddin that during the war no harm should be given to innocents/women or old people and to those people who say Kalma. You are under serious mistak of blaming prophet of God and you must seek God mercy before God annoyance comes on you.
Because Muhammed was a wild man and a murderer. He killed anyone who opposed him. you won't find that in the koran but you can find it in many nuetral history books
I have never heard this! You might be wrong, where did you hear this?
