What did prophet Muhammed allow his companions to do with the women they enslaved in wars?

There is a prophetic statement in Sahih Bukhary about prophet Muhammed companions who enslaved some women during a battle and they had sex with those women but did not want their semen to come inside those women (fearing that the women might get pregnant). When prophet Muhamemd know of what his companions were doing he told them they can have FULL SEX with those women and it does not matter if they get pregnant. http://hadith.al-islam.com/Display/Display.asp?hnum=1051&doc=2 Was that fair from prophet Muhammed?

1. sure its fair ,those ppl were fighting muslims and when muslim marry their women ,she become free when she give birth to a child
