Who is the author of the Quran? Evidences on the Authenticity of the Quran?

Whatever the arguments of the non-believer critics, the Quran states explicitly: “(This is) revelation of the book in which there is no doubt, from the Lord of the worlds. Or do they say he has forged it? Nay it is the truth from the Lord.” (32:2-3) From the time of its revelation till today, people have tried to cast doubts about the Divinity of the Holy Quran, and have tried to argue in vain that the author of the Quran is Prophet Muhammad himself; but they have not succeeded because of its inherent truth. Our study of the Qur'an acquaints us with a distinguishing characteristic of this holy book. This distinguishing characteristic is the absolute authenticity of its source. That is, without the slightest need of any comparison between the oldest manuscripts, it is evident that what we recite as the verses of the Holy Qur'an, are exactly the same words presented before the world by the Almighty Allah (swt) through His messenger Muhammad ibn Abdallah (saww). In another words, the distinguished feature of the Qur'an is the quality of its contents: its teachings are genuinely original and have not been adopted or plagiarized. Its teachings have been delivered to the Prophet from a world that transcends his thought and mind. The Prophet (saww) was only a recipient of this revelation and message. As Allah says: “. . . and those who are firmly rooted in knowledge say: We believe in it, it is all from our Lord." (3 :7). This paper attempts to present several logical arguments, textual analysis, historical evidence and scientific data to prove that the ‘Source of Quran is God’, in a simple way for Madrassa teachers to use as a Resource paper in the subject. Due to magnitude of the subject matter, this paper will limit itself to one angle of discussion only: simple and straight forward evidences to prove the “Authenticity of the Quran as a Word of God”. However, separate study paper will be required to discuss and make critical review and refutation of : “Authorship theories on the source of Quran as forwarded by the unbelievers”, as the biased unbelievers have forwarded several baseless theories on the authorship of Quran, which require a detailed critique. Similarly, altogether separate study papers are needed on the following themes: · Evidences on the “Originality and Genuineness of the Quran”, i.e. Quran has remained immune against any type of interpolation or transfiguration in its text and even its arrangement, contrary to other revealed books. · A study on “Comparison between Quran and the other revealed books”. · A paper on “Process of Revelation, Compilation and Preservation of Quran”. As the opponents want us to believe, the Holy Quran is not the product of the holy Prophet’s speculation and thinking, rather it is a revealed book in which every word is the word of the Almighty that was communicated to the Prophet through the process of revelation. While historical testimony in this regard is unquestionable, the Quran emphasizes it further with a view of showing the opponents of Islam that what came out from the sacred lips of the Prophet was a divine revelation: “(This is) the revelation of the book in which there is no doubt, from the Lord of the worlds. Will they say: ‘He has forged it!’ Nay, it is the Truth from the Lord ...”. (32:2-3) “But Allah bears witness that what He has revealed to you (O Muhammad), He has revealed from His own knowledge, and the angels bear witness (to it), but sufficient is Allah for witness”. (4:166). “And you (O Muhammad) did not recite any book before this, nor you were able to transcribe one with your right hand. In that case, indeed those who talk vanity could have doubted.” (29:48).

  1. the Author is ALLAH SWT. Muhammad Saaws spread the message as a prophet.
  2. i dont get it
  3. It was a recitation by Mohammad, written down by others. It did not come from God. In fact, parts of it were stories Mohammaed heard from Jews in Christians in the Mecca area. The reason it has remained "unaltered" is because most Muslims learn Arabic and read it in the original language (most variations of the Bible are due to translation). There is only one version (unlike various books of the Bible) because all copies but one were destroyed by an early Arab king.
  4. Long question, but Quran is the word of God, revealed to Muhammad and written by his companions. Borrowed from other sources? Have to be a retard to seriously believe that! Check the stories in the Quran and in the Bible and you will see many differences; and Muhammad was an illiterate man never in contact with Jewish and Christian scholars for any period of time. Further, Quran came to Muhammad in 23 years; a long time; and there isn't a single contradiction. Try it yourself: http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/
  5. WELL AREN'T YOU A MUSLIM IT WAS MADe BY ALLAH AND ALLAH ONLY !! if it wasn't we would't follow it ! duh got to the mosuge ask the imam ! lol jk
  6. God, the Most Compassionate, didn't leave man to go astray without an unadulterated reference. Indeed, He revealed the Qur’an and promised to preserve it as the final revelation for humankind for all times. It is the word of God which He revealed to Prophet Muhammad (mercy and peace of God be upon him) through the Angel Gabriel. It was revealed in parts over a period of 23 years. The Quran deals with the basis of creeds, morality, history of humanity, worship, knowledge, wisdom, God-man relationship, and human relationship in all aspects. Comprehensive teaching on which, can be built sound systems of social justice, economics, politics, legislation, jurisprudence, law and international relations, are important contents of the Quran. The Prophet Muhammad (mercy and peace of God be upon him) dictated the revelation to his companions who wrote it down during his lifetime on palm leaves, parchments, bones, flat stones, etc. In addition, the Qur'an was committed to heart by many of Prophet Muhammad's companions. One year after the death of Prophet Muhammad (mercy and peace of God be upon him), the first Caliph (Ruler), Abu-Bakr, instructed the Prophet’s companions to collect the whole Qur’an in one volume. The third Caliph, Uthman, prepared several copies from the original text and sent them to the major centers of Islamic Civilization. From that time onwards, more than 1400 years ago, the same Qur’anic text has been in use with the exact wording, order and language (Arabic). Not a single word from its 114 chapters has been changed since it was revealed. Indeed, God promised in the Qur’an to preserve it forever. He said: “Verily, I have sent down the Qur’an, and indeed, I will guard it from corruption.” (15:9). An essential point to understand about the Qur’an is that it is a miracle both in its revelation and content. I advise you to see the following links which show the evidence that the Holy Qur’an is a miracle. http://www.jalyat.net/ www.miraclesofthequran.com At the time of the revelation and since, there have been those who have denied the divine and miraculous nature of the Qur’an saying that Muhammad (mercy and peace of God be upon him) was either taught by others or that he wrote it by himself! In order to counteract this claim, God lays down a challenge to the whole of humankind saying: “ If you are in doubt concerning what I have revealed to My slave (Muhammad), then produce one chapter like it and you may call on your helpers beside Allah, if you are truthful.” (2:23) .These are from the prophecies which the Qur’an foretold as no one from the time of the Prophet (mercy and peace of God be upon him) until this day has been able to produce the like of one chapter or even a verse of the Qur’an. Note that the Qur’an was revealed to Muhammad (peace be upon him) in Arabic only. So, any Qur’anic translation, either in English or any other language, is neither a Qur’an, nor a version of the Qur’an, but rather it is only a translation of the meaning of the Qur’an. The Qur’an exists only in the Arabic in which it was revealed.
