If the Islamic religion is one of peace, why do they....?

Kill their own people for not following the strict teachings? I realize that extremists do things like this, but when they are trying to tell the world they are a religion of peace, their not doing their cause any good by doing things like this. I'm a Christian and Christians have bombed abortion clinics, started holy wars, etc. This doesnt mean that Christianity is "for" these things, it just means that we are all human and it's important to know that even these sins we commit as humans are forgiven through the blood of Jesus the Christ. 14. I agree that they are not doing their cause any good in a western country. It is easy enough to characterize people and then generalise. It would be harder but more just to try and meet some Muslims and talk to them about these sorts of issues. And have you ever thought what you would feel like being on the wrong end of bullets, rockets and missiles in Iraq? You might not feel like taking a stand against extremists.
15. Once again, yes extremists have killed at least 40 women this year in Basra. The article states that they think this was done by sectarian groups that were trying to impose a strict version, version not how all Muslims think or act, Islamic law. There are women in the united states being sold off by leaders of supposedly Christian groups starting at ages as young as ten years old. Women forced to marry men 3 times their age and if they refuse they are beaten into submission and ever on rare occasions killed. There are Christian groups who don't allow their women to cut their hair or wear pants, they are required to have their heads covered. Sound familiar? Quit picking on the Muslims, the majority of them are innocent of these horrible crimes, just like the majority of Christian religions are innocent of these crimes against women. No, they are not doing their cause any good by doing this, unless it's to instill fear. Remember we rarely hear anything good about Muslims in our new media, I wonder why. It's called propaganda.
