PBS Censors Islam vs. Islamists?
Why won't they let the moderates speak? I would love to hear from the moderates, as my impression of this religion has really gone bad over the past few years. Yet, our publically funded broadcast system has silenced them. Why? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Producer: PBS dropped 'Islam vs. Islamists' on political grounds Dennis Wagner The Arizona Republic Apr. 10, 2007 12:00 AM The producer of a tax-financed documentary on Islamic extremism claims his film has been dropped for political reasons from a television series that airs next week on more than 300 PBS stations nationwide. - They spent $700 on the project. lmpoorao!!!!! Being that it's pbs. They chose the easy way out. Look what happened to those who have opposed the men in black towels. The following are excerpts from pbs : "Have a comment about the journalistic integrity of PBS on-air or online content? Write the PBS Ombudsman, Michael Getler, who serves as an independent internal critic within PBS seeking to ensure that PBS upholds its own standards of editorial integrity.
- I too would be interested in watching that documentary - I think a lot of people would - and it's a crying shame that PBS doesn't have the courage to air it. It floors me that many of the same people who don't believe (or don't want to admit) that Islamic extremists are a huge threat to the world are also afraid of them, as shown by being PC so as not to offend them. I am an American who is frequently offended by what I see and hear. I don't make a big deal out of it - such is life - but even if I did, would anybody care? No, because I am not a threat. Maybe it will be released on DVD someday, after a legal battle over the rights.
