Islamic terror, an oxymoron?
For anyone with sufficient knowledge of Islam, Islamic extremism, Islamic terrorism, Islamo-fascism, etc. are oxymorons. Muslims, as the Quran teaches (2:143), are "a community of the middle way." While some Muslims may properly be addressed as terrorists, etc., to define them as "Islamic" is an oxymoron. Perhaps this is a little difficult for non-Muslims to understand because, unlike other faiths, the faith and the believer have different names: Islam and Muslim respectively. Leaving aside for the moment the contentious issue of defining terrorism, Muslim terrorist would be more accurate, but then one should be consistent when referring to Christian, Jewish, or Hindu terrorists. However, what news media generally do is to refer to non-Muslim terrorists as belonging to a "cult", thereby, taking care not to smear non-Islamic faiths - Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, or Buddhism. Niqabi brings us 200,000 examples of Islam denouncing terrorism. The only trouble is that this is a single denouncement reported 200,000 times.

- Lol yes, you do have a point. The word combinations completely contradict one another "Submission to God Terrorism". "Submission to God Extremists". It is a label that has been placed and has been unchallenged because the Muslim world does not speak up and does not openly condemn extremist attacks on countries and individuals.

- why is it when a muslim commits a crime islam is judged and when a non muslim commits a crime their religion is not mentioned.
- You can't cut the lunacy out of Islam as long as that lunacy remains a very powerful and vocal part of it. When Muslims start protesting worldwide against the lunatics who commit this or that atrocity in the name of Islam, your argument might be more impressive.
- I only have to look at their actions to know that that is not the case. Darfur, Sudan, Chetsnia, Iran wanting to nuke Israel, etc..... Hundreds of thousands show up at Hamas rallies and the like. It really doesn't look peaceful to me. No amount of propaganda is going to hide the actions.
